Tweets

I had twitter for a whole two days. I guess I thought that my life was pretty interesting and I would have lots of cool things to tweet about. Like, "Just ran into David Archuleta and he told me I am pretty." Or, "Recently signed my debut album - rock on!" But to be honest, it was more like, "Been sitting at my desk at work for the past six hours writing a press release about the HCG hormone in men and women, and how their bodies respond ..." And frankly, I don't think anyone really cares about that. I mean, I don't even really care about that.

But when I deleted my twitter Kevin was disappointed. He told me he looked forward to my "tweets" :) so I told him I would still send him mini-tweets throughout the day. So far they have been, "What did the mechanic say?" And, "Can you vacuum later tonight?" And he doesn't love these kinds of tweets for some reason.

So for all of you - what value do you find in twitter? Am I missing something?

I hardly ever tweet either. I mostly just use my twitter to read other people's tweets. Haha.

i wish i had read your twitter while it existed! i've created and deleted my twitter account a few times; i use mine because i generally think in tweets (and have long before twitter was invented). little inspirations and funny -isms just come in short blurbs and so i use twitter to record them. they are often starting points for blog posts and other projects.

i don't, however, tell my 0 followers what i'm doing and where i am. i don't really want to share and they don't want to know. i think that side of twitter is a little ridiculous.

No your not. I think tweets should be sweet notes you leave under you lovers pillow. I love technology, but at times I feel it has taken away the depth of interaction.

Twitter seemed pretty useless for me. I don't know too many people who use it so it wasn't fun. Random people whom I never had met were following me, which is creepy if you ask me. Plus, I feel Twitter isn't user friendly like facebook. I don't think you are missing out on much.

I'm so with you girl. I'm no twitter-er and I don't get what the big deal is? But that little bird is cute!!

I used to hate twitter, but I decided to try and it and got a bit into it. I mostly just use it to vent or share funny comments/jokes/situations.

I find value in tweeting because there are often things I want to blog about in the moment, like driving, or eating, or running about, and instead of trying to remember them later and wrangle them into blog posts, I can just state them in 140 characters and leave it at that.

I just like reading what funny things other people say. My life is boring, so I hardly tweet anything. And I'm pretty sure no one really reads them anyways. It's good to contact fellow bloggers though! And when you're bored in class....

I may be a tech buff, but I really dislike twitter. boring boring boring. I suppose its what you make it though, just like a blog, it can be worthwhile or the nth blog out there that talks about their kids soccer game.

Twitter is good for connecting with other bloggers and people who have the same interests as you. I'm following a bunch of my favorite blog authors and they post about when they update their blog and such...so it's a good tool to promote things you're working on. My stats have increased a bunch since using twitter to promote when I do a new post. But I don't spend too much time on it...maybe a few minutes here and there! (:

It may be just me...But...
I find zero value in twitter. Haha, but this is coming from the girl who finds minimal value in FB so... to each their own, I suppose!

Had it and deleted it. I found no use in it at all.... I'd rather just blog and not be limited to 160 characters. haha

I have twitter, because that's how I talk to my blog pals. I have met at least 3 of them through it. They are some of the best people in my life.

No, I'm with you. I had it all of about a week and never had anything interesting to say. :)

i just got mine a week ago and i'm on the fence. some peoples words crack me up, so that's always a fun little pick me up.

but i looked back over my tweets and realized they're all about food....i dont know what that means.

I have a twitter account, but never use it. It's been like 6 months or longer. I just don't have the time, BUT I do love me facebook, blogs, etc.

honestly, I think I tweet for other people? I like making people laugh if something funny happens throughout my day.

I don't have a twitter but I do have a FB & I have thought about deleting it several times. I feel like things such as FB and Twitter take away from real life interaction.

I don't tweet--there's just nothing interesting I want to talk about. I do have a twitter account so that I can follow musicians and celebrities.
