I want to like macarons because of the way they crunch, and polaroids because they are fast and fuzzy around the edges, and anthropologie because their skirts make my legs look longer and their tops make my hair bounce.
I want to blog because it is a way to share what I feel, not because it makes me look better than I am. I want to be a part of this culture, while still keeping myself and my life the way I want it, and the way I want it to look and the way I want it to be. Not how I want it to be perceived.
I think a lot of people could get lost in this world wide web if they let themselves.
And I really don't want to get lost.
When I was younger I always thought that life was about finding myself. (I blame Sharon Creech for that.) But now, I really just want to create myself, and my life.
I think I found myself a long time ago.

so, what do i wear when i'm a 20-something half-white female?
great reminder to love things because you want to not because everyone else loves them.
Here, here. Beautiful.
in high school I went through the phase that "if everyone else likes it then I shouldn't." Now, I realize there is usually a reason why everyone else likes it too, but that doesn't make me any less of a person and there will still be no one like me.
beautiful! love it.

This is one of the best blog posts I have read around the web lately! You make an excellent point.
Very well said!
Exactly.
Well said! I struggle with this balance daily...glad I'm not the only one. Xo, Katie
you don't seem lost.
"i think i found myself a long time ago" -- favorite.
oh my, this post spoke to my soul! I love how honest you are with absolutely everything you write. It tells me that you are truly genuine and like what you like not because it's trendy. Thanks for helping me realize that it's okay to not be swept up in the blogging world and to start truly think on my own!
